The main convergence on adjustment commands

In each dialog box opened by means of submenu Image> Adjustments (the Image> Adjustments), it is possible to include a print preview mode. Made changes become visible at once on the image or the selected area if there is flag Preview (Print preview) - fig. 11.1 see.

The remark

While the dialog box is opened, it is possible to push CTRL keys + "gap" and to click under the image, to increase its scale. If to push keys Аlt + "gap" and to click under the image, its scale will be reduced if simply to push a gap key the image can be moved in a window.

Submenu Adjustments (Adjustment) much of commands can be applied by means of an adjusting layer (adjustment layer) - fig. 11.2 see. Unlike a normal method where the active layer adjusting a layer is affected only influences all layers allocated more low. However the adjusting layer actually does not change пикселов the image until will be merged with an underlaying layer.

In this chapter it is told only about usage of adjusting layers, and how them to create, it is told in chapter 9, section «Adjusting layers». Also it is possible to use a filling layer (fill layer) to apply a monophonic painting, a gradient or a pattern (see chapter 7, section «Creation of a layer of filling»). "Hot" keys of some operations of filling are enumerated in tab. 11.1.

In dialog boxes Levels (Levels), Curves (Curves), Replace Color (to Replace color), Selective color (Selective color), Hue/Saturation (Tone/saturation), Channel Mixer (the Adder of channels) and Variations (Variation) can use button Save to (Save) to save the adjustment, concerning adjustments of color and then to apply them to other layer or the image, clicking by button Load to (Load) in the same dialog box. Also any command of submenu Adjustments (Adjustment) can be written down and applied in the form of action.

Some commands of adjustment, such as Variations (Variations), Color Balance (Balance of color) and Brightness/Contrast (Brightness/contrast), change all image. Other commands, for example Levels (Levels), Curves (Curves), Hue/Saturation (Tone/saturation), Replace Color (to Replace color), Selective color (Selective color) and Channel Mixer (the Adder of channels), allow to supervise more strictly made changes, but it is slightly more difficult to use them. What command to apply, depends on character of the image with which you work, and also from., whether the color separation is supposed to fulfill for it or it will be transferred on a network. An ingot bright color (for example, dark blue or violet) will be evident in the photo sated with subjects and can demand more careful adjustment of color.

For recovery of reference values of parameters in an adjustment dialog box if it is still opened, push ALT key and click by button Reset to (Recover).
