Web-gallery creation

By means of command Web Photo Gallery (Web-gallery of photos) it is possible to export at once some images in the form of the web site. Photoshop makes for you all operation. You automatically receive: a homepage index.htm with gallery of photos which can be opened by means of any graphic web browser. Separate pages with images in format JPEG will be placed in subdirectory images; files of HTML-pages in subdirectory pages; and miniatures of images in format JPEG - in subdirectory thumbnails.

The remark

When you will be ready to load your Web-gallery on the server learn from the provider what rules exist at creation of names of files and folders, and also ask instructions on their loading.

1. Be convinced that images which should be used for gallery creation, are in one folder.
   
2. Execute command File> Automate> Web Photo Gallery (the File> Automation> Web-gallery of photos).
   
3. Select for your web site appropriate style from menu Style (Styles):
   
   • Horizontal Dark (Across), Farme (In the frame), Light (Light) or Patterned (Figured);
     
   • Simple (Idle time);
     
   • Table (Table), Table Blue (the Blue table);
     
   • Vertical Frame (On a vertical), Slide Show 1 (Show in a mode of slides 1) or Slide Show 2 (Show in a mode of slides 2).
     

   Any style can be viewed in a print preview window.

4. From pop up menu Options (Option) select the necessary variant of the text information, image size, the resolution, used fonts, rules of the name of files and color of links.
   

   If you selected variant Banner (Ban-ner), enter the information which will appear on each page of gallery (fig. 20.35): Site Name (a site Name), Photographer (the Name of the photographer), Contact Info (Contacts), Date (Date), Font (font Type), Font Size (Size) for the text on a banner.
   

   Activate option Large Images (the Big images) from the uncovered list in section Options (Option) and select quality of images, their size and a thickness of the frame. All these parameters will be applied on each page of gallery (fig. 20.36).
   

   Thickness of the frame of each image is measured in пикселах. If to install flag Resize Images (to Change the sizes of images) program Photoshop will change the sizes of source images to allocate them on separate pages; if not to install the specified flag the size of images will not change.
   

   If option Large Images (the Big images) select any variant for a rough estimate of the size from pop up menu Resize Images (to Change the sizes of images) is included or enter a certain percentage ratio for change of the sizes. Also select a suitable variant from 0 to 12 from pop up menu JPEG Quality (Quality of the JPEG-image). The above quality, the is more file size. To specify image quality it is possible and by means of a slider. If this method look as values in pop up menu JPEG Quality change is used.
   

   From the pop up menu of section Options (Option) select variant Thumbnails (Miniatures) to install parameters of a homepage of Web-gallery (fig. 20.37).
   

   Select parameters of a font for the text, the size of miniatures of the image (field Size) and the layout chart of miniatures (enter appropriate values into fields Columns (Columns), Rows (Lines), Border Size (the Thickness of the frame)). From the pop up menu of section Options (Option) select variant Custom Colors (Colours for choice the user) to select background color, text color on a banner.а also color of links (fig. 30.38). Click on a color palette immediately to change color (remember that it is better to use, whenever possible, Web-colors).
   

5. Click by button Browse (Source), find a folder with images which should be used, and then click by button Select to (Select).
   

   At will. Install flag Include All Subdirectories (to Include all subdirectories) if are necessary for allocating in Web-gallery not only files with the images, being in the specified folder, but also files from all nested folders.
   

6. Click by button Destination (Receiver), designate a folder in which it is necessary to save HTML-files which will be received as a result of performance of the given command, and click by button Select to (Select).

7. Click by the button APPRX. Program Photoshop creates following files:
   • On an extreme measure, one homepage under a name index.htm:
     
   • JPEG-files for images and their miniatures;
     
   • HTML-files for other pages of a site.

Store all files and the folders concerning gallery of photos, in one shared folder to save communications in between.

If to click on a miniature or title in a web browser, there will be an image in the increased size. Also it is possible to use buttons with arrows that the visitor of a page could return to the previous picture, then pass to following or to return to a homepage (fig. 20.39).

Buttons with arrows will be saved in separate files of subdirectory images in the folder-receiver selected by you. They will be called home.gif, previous.gif and next.gif. Any of these images can be opened by means of program ImageReady and to edit, and also to replace with any other image. If you decided to use the last variant in menu File (File) execute command Save Optimized (to Save with optimization) and save new images of buttons under the same names in the same folder. At appearance of any notifying window answer Yes (Yes).

If you want to change gray color of initial arrows on buttons, in palette Optimize (Optimization) of program ImageReady change value of parameter GIF palette (Palette GIF) with Custom (for choice the user) to another. Then execute command Image> Adjustments> Hue/Saturation (the Image> Adjustments> Tone/saturation) to color the given arrow, or drag other image in a program primary window to use it instead of an arrow.
