Drawing in mode Indexed Color
In mode Indexed Color by means of tools Pencil (Pencil) and Brush (Paintbrush) it is possible to put only completely opaque dabs. For these tools leave slider Opacity (Opacity) on a mark of 100 %. The unique mode of mixing at which it is possible to reduce opacity, is Dissolve to (Dissolve).
Option Forced

Select one of menu items Dither (Blur): None (is not present), Diffusion (Diffusion), Pattern (Pattern) or Noise (Noise) to imitate additional shades which are not present in the color lookup table. If variant None images with color sharp transitions will look, as posters so use this option only in a case when such sharp transitions of color are not present is selected. Option Diffusion (Diffusion) leads to changeover of color by the nearest shade, but can sometimes make noticeable separate points. Variant Pattern imitates missing shades, using repeating pattern. Option Noise creates almost inaudible effect of appearance of separate points in that place where there transits boundary between colors.
-
If in menu Dither (Blur) point Diffusion has been selected, it is possible to enter value in the field Amount (Amount) to regulate percent of colors which will be affected by the given operation. Selecting this option, install flag Preserve Exact Colors (to Save exact colors), thus blur will not be applied to those areas where color of the image completely correspond to any color from a palette. Do not try to view beforehand the gained effect as, most likely, you do not see any difference.
