Councils about creation of the text for a network

Use following councils at text creation in a network:

• For the text edited and transformed to a raster format all attributes of a text layer and a smoothing option are saved at passage from program Photoshop in ImageReady and is reverse;
  
• The text in programs Photoshop and ImageReady can be smoothed. As at smoothing are added color пикселы along boundaries of letters, new elements in the color lookup table also are added, as a result the file size a little increases;
  
• Some consider that the small text if it forms for a network, should be smoothed. We think differently the-small text on the size looks is better if not to apply to it smoothing operation. Use print preview means in program ImageReady to solve this point in question independently;
  
• At creation of the text for a network use a font большего the size, than what would apply at printing. So the text will look more distinct on the screen;
  

The remark

The same size on a Web-page will look differently on screens of UNIX-like OS because of distinctions in resolution of monitors (72 ppi for Mac OS and 96 ppi for Windows). View the page or a site on both platforms.

• It is possible to include or ungear styles of an outline of text Faux Bold (False semiboldface) or Faux Italic (False italics) in the menu palettes Character (Font) in program ImageReady. These options have been specially prepared for those fonts which do not have built in bold face or italics. Also there is option Underline (Underlined) for creation of links (not the present links!) in the form of the underlined text;
  
• In order to avoid blur do not forget to pick up for the text Web-color. For this purpose in program ImageReady by means of tool Eyedropper (Pipette) click on a letter, then replace color with the closest Web-equivalent by means of palettes Color Table (Color lookup table). The remark

To fulfill coercion to Web-colors in program Photoshop, click on a miniature with a letter «Т» on a text layer twice, then click on the sample of color on the panel of options or palette Character (Font). In window Color Picker (a color Choice) or click on a tag notifying about mismatch to Web-colors to pick up the closest Web-substitute, or install flag Only Web Colors (Only Web-colors) and click by the button APPRX.

Optimization of hybrid images

The mixed images containing simultaneously elements with the smooth passage of color and monophonic areas (for example, the text), look a little defiantly (fig. 23.71).

And in program Photoshop, and in ImageReady it is possible to use special functions of sharing of the image on slices to separate various areas of the mixed image, and then to apply to them various methods of optimization. To facilitate division of the mixed image into slices, it is better to allocate, whenever possible, the text there where it will not close fragments with the smooth passage of color. Produce optimization of text fragments of the image in format GIF and fragments with the smooth passage of color in format JPEG.
