Optimization of a separate slice of the image

If you work with the hybrid image which contains elements with accurately certain boundaries (for example, the text or shaped a picture) and elements with the smooth passage of color try to create a separate slice for each zone. Then it will be possible to produce various optimization of slices depending on their type. For example, 23.99 element shown on fig. with the smooth passage colors (plane) should be transformed to format JPEG, while a vectorial element (a burning bulb) - in format GIF.

1. Activate tool Slice Select (slice Selection), pushing a key To (key pattern Shift+K).
   
2. Click on any slice.

3. Select optimization adjustments from an appropriate palette. For accurately contoured areas use format GIF, and for areas with the smooth passage of color - JPEG.

If to select some slices with various adjustments of optimization in palette Optimize (Optimization) those adjustments which at these slices coincide will be displayed only. However at change of values accessible to modification they will be applied to all selected slices.

If you afterwards decide that it is necessary to apply the same optimization to all slices activate tool Slice Select (slice Selection), fulfill menu command Select> All Slices (to Select> All slices) and then install necessary values of parameters on palette Optimize (Optimization). If to execute command Select> Deselect Slices (to Select> to Cancel selection of slices) palette Optimize becomes empty.
