Creation of a new layer

1. To create on 100 % an opaque layer in mode Normal (Normal), click by button Create New Layer (to Create a new layer), allocated in the bottom of palettes Layers (Layers) - fig. 7.3 see. Any other actions in this case it is not required.
   

   If you want to set its properties at layer creation, from the menu palettes Layers (Layers) select command New Layer (the New layer) or, pushing ALT key, click by button Create New Layer in the bottom of palette Layers, then fulfill the subsequent steps.
   

2. In the field Name (Name), shown on fig. 7.4, enter any name of a new layer. Deliver flag Group With Previous Layer (to Group with the previous layer) that the new layer became a part of group of cutting off (more in detail about it it is told in chapter 14, section «Group of cuts»).
   

   Select color for area on palette Layers (Layers) allocated under an icon in the form of an eye and an icon of a paintbrush.
   

   Select other value of parameters Mode (a mixing Mode) and Opacity (Opacity), later these characteristics can be changed.
   

3. Click by the button APPRX. New a layer appears immediately over a layer which was before active.
   

The remark

To accelerate operation with the big file in program Photoshop, from the menu palettes Layers (Layers) select point Palette Options (a palette Option), then select the least size for a miniature of a layer or variant None (is not present) - fig. 7.5 see.
