Chapter №9.

Adjustment commands

Fig. 9.1. Submenu Image> Adjustments

The remark

How to adjust color by means of commands Hue/Saturation (Tone/saturation), Desaturate (saturation Reduction), Replace Color (color Changeover) and other commands from submenu Image> Adjustments (Image> Adjustment), shown on fig. 9.1, is told in chapter 11.

In this chapter the set of methods of adjustment of light and dark tones in the image is considered. It is possible to fulfill the elementary adjustments, for example to invert a layer so that it will look, as if a negative, or to give it a poster type, restricting an amount of brightness levels to the given number. It is possible to lead more exact adjustment of light, average or dark tones of a layer and their contrast with usage of such means, as Levels (Levels) or Curves (Curves). It is possible to black out small areas manually, used tool Burn (Shading) or to clarify them by means of the tool of Dodge (Clarification).
