Access to rasterization parameters is carried out by click on button Screens in dialog box Page Setup (page Parameters). Dialog box Halftone Screens (the Half-tone raster), represented on fig. 10.7 Thus opens. The state of flag Use Printer's Default Screens (to Use a printer raster) defines, who will be растрировать the image at the press. If it is installed, rasterization is carried out by the printer. Otherwise it will do Photoshop according to the parameters set more low in a window.

List Ink (Colors) allows to select the form for which rasterization parameters are set. Their only three: a raster lineature (field Frequency (the Lineature)), a raster corner (field Angle (the Corner »and the form of a raster point (field Shape (the Form of a raster point)). If you attentively read the theoretical sections of this chapter devoted to rasterization and a color separation the correct filling of this field does not make for you a problem. Consider that rasterization parameters are set independently for each color. Current color is selected from list Ink (Color). The form of a raster point experiment only in the event that possess sufficient experience and know, that want to achieve. We advise to use the round raster point checked up by time for all colors. In order to avoid a random error you can include flag Use Same Shape for All Inks (the Identical form for all colors), installing thereby the identical form of a point for all colors.

Rasterization parameters can be saved in a file *.ahs to avoid in дальнейш&м repeated input. For this purpose click on button Save to (Save), and for loading beforehand saved — on button Load to (Load).

At an output of color-splitted forms for printing house an indispensable condition is setting of following special labels:

Corner Crop Marks (Angular labels of cropping) and Center Crop Marks (Side labels of cropping). Specify an edging format of issuing, on them produce cropping of prints. Cropping labels should be not precisely along the edges of the image, and with a small indent inside. It compensates errors of cropping which, as a rule, are laid down in 2—3 mm. Certainly, you should take care in advance of that the illustration slightly supported the size of a format of issuing.

• Registration Marks (Labels приводки). Serve for combination at printing of color-splitted forms.
• Calibration Bars (Gauge scales). On scales printers regulate submission of colors.
• Labels (Marking). Contain the component color information, a lineature of the press and coal
Raster inclination, useful at check of films and the main thing, helping to avoid misunderstanding with confusing of forms in printing house.

Labels and scales are allocated on fields of color-splitted forms (fig. 10.8) and too demand the registration at calculation of a format of "paper". On the average they add to an edging format about 35 mm.

All enumerated labels are installed by the program automatically if to include appropriate flags in the lower part of dialog box Page Setup (page Parameters).

To allocate labels of cropping with an indent inside, use dialog box Bleed (image Printing just barely enough). It opens the button with the same name in dialog box Page Setup (page Parameters). Here there is a unique field into which the size of release is entered.

Except the standard information necessary for typographical workers, installed by flag Labels (Label), you can allocate any additional information on a print. This information should be entered beforehand in dialog box File Info (the Information on a file), opening the menu command File with the same name (File). For its output on the press install flag Caption (Title).

At obtaining of photoforms various technologies can be used. The part from them demands positive originals, and a part — negative. Position of the emulsion side of a film in relation to the form also matters.

For offset printing positive films (flag Negative (the Negative) is dropped) with an emulsion downwards (flag Emulsion Down (the Emulsion downwards is installed)) more often are required. If to take a detached view of such film of an emulsion the image on it will be mirror. This side the film nestles on the photoform at exhibiting.

At printing of image Photoshop allows to select for it background color and the size of the frame.

The frame round the image is always printed by black color. Its width is set in dialog box Border (Frame), opening by click on the button with the same name from dialog box Page Setup (page Parameters). Background color is selected from dialog box Color Picker (Color box), the caused ambassador of click on button Background (Background) from this a dialog box.

Button Transfer (Transmission) opens a dialog box in which function of transmission of the printer is set. Transmission function installs dependence between brightness пикселов images and optical density of a print, and in essence is calibration of the printer bypassing a management system color. It got Photoshop 6.0 in the inheritance from early versions. Do not use it without strong reasons.

In new version Photoshop there was dialog box Print Options (Printing options) connecting adjustments Print (Press) and Page Setup (Parameters, pages) and even giving some additional possibilities (fig. 10.9).

The left upper corner of a window occupies the print preview area, allowing to estimate correctness of the made adjustments. Areas Position (Layout) and Scaled Print Size (Scaling are more to the right allocated at the press). By default Photoshop prints the image at center of the installed media format (papers or films). Freely to allocate the image on page, drop flag Center Image (to Align the image) in the field of Position (Layout). Exact position of the image on page and to tell — its left upper corner more truly, (Top) and Left left) is set numerically in fields of Torahs. If split-hair accuracy is not necessary, and you simply save a paper for the printer, allocate the image by means of the mouse in the field of print preview. It can be dragged, capturing for any internal point. At relocation Photoshop updates image coordinates in fields areas Position (Layout).

If the image resolution is enough, it can be scaled at the press. For this purpose it is necessary to enter scaling coefficient in the field Scale (Scale) of area Scaled Print Size (Scaling at the press) or the exact sizes in fields Width (Width) and Height (Height). Interactive scaling by means of the mouse is admitted also. Install flag Show Bounding Box (to Show the dimensional frame), and round the image, in the field of print preview there will be a dimensional frame. Moving its edges the mouse, achieve the demanded image size.

When you are convinced that all setting are made truly, it is necessary to open only dialog box Print (Press) and to click on button Print (Press).

• Printers and typographical machines use technology of rasterization at the press. She allows to transfer shades at the expense of density of a raster with the help only one color. The lineature — the major parameter of a raster — is defined as an amount of the raster points having on unit of length in a print.
• At a letterpress printing the lineature choice is defined by quality of a paper and possibilities of the offset machine. At the press on the printer the lineature is selected proceeding from a desirable amount of shades of gray on a print.
• The color letterpress printing demands color-splitted originals. Adobe Photoshop supports a color separation with usage triad and-or плашечных colors. For an output of color-splitted forms phototypesetting automatic machines are used. Color separation setting are concentrated in dialog box Color Settings (color Parameters).
• Exact transmission of colors at the press and display on the monitor is provided with careful calibration of the equipment and usage of management systems by color.
