Fragment shading By means of tool Burn (Shading) we strengthen shades on other section of a fragment — the person of the old woman. 1. Activate tool Burn (Shading). It has the same parameters, as the tool of Dodge (Clarification). Install an exposure of equal 20 % and pitch interval Shadows (Shades). Select the suitable size of a paintbrush. 2. Increase a section with the person of the old woman (fig. 9.16,). Make a series of "dabs" in the field of cheeks, an eye, a forehead. A fragment to () and after shading () Saturation change Tool Sponge (Sponge) is intended for change of a saturation of a section of the image. On the action it is similar to engine Saturation (Saturation) of dialog box Hue/Saturation (Tone/saturation). We reduce saturation of unnaturally bright persons of the old woman and the man. 1. Activate tool Sponge (Sponge) from a palette of tools. In its property bar the list of the paintbrushes, the uncovered list of modes (with two variants are allocated: Saturate (to Increase a saturation) or Desaturate (to Reduce a saturation)), and also data entry field Pressure (Pressure) where the effect level is set. 2. Install mode Desaturate (to Reduce a saturation), set an exposure of 30 % and select a paintbrush in the size 45—65 пикселов. Now in the list channel Red (Red) is set as the day off. 4. Initial channels are presented by scales with slider. At present the slider on scale Red (Red) is on 100 %, i.e. the red initial channel has 100 %-s' representation in the red output channel. The content of remaining initial channels (dark blue and green) red is equal in the day off 0. 5. Select from list Output Channel (output Channels) by turns all three points. You are convinced that appropriate initial channels have 100 %-s' representation in the channels of an output. Install again the red output channel. 6. Move slider Red (Red) to the right. The percent of red color in the image raises. Look at a palette of channels. Channel Red image (Red) becomes more light. 7. If to move a slider to the left red color on the image becomes less, and the channel miniature on palette Channels (Channels) is blacked out. Finish slider Red (Red) to value of 0 %. Red color on the image is not present now. To move a slider it is useless further, as value of brightness is already equal to zero. Return a slider of the red channel on a mark of 100 %. 8. Now click on a slider of green color. Move it to the right to a mark of 20 %. Representation of the green channel in the day off red increases by 20 %. The image becomes more red. 9. Reduce percent of representation of the green channel to 0 and more low. Now this initial channel before its adding in the output turns to a negative. The percent of brightness of red color in the image decreases. 10. We change places of representation of channels. This simple trick it is possible to achieve interesting effect. Install slider Red (Red) on value of 0 %, slider Green (Green) — on a mark of 100 %. Yellow, green and red areas of the image changed color, and the background remained gray-blue as channel Blue representation (Dark blue) did not change.11. Select from list Output Channel (output Channels) point Green (Green). We will change Now representation of initial channels in the green output channel. Reduce percent of the green initial channel to About, and red — increase to 100 %. Colors of details of the image strongly changed, isn't that so?! The remarkSetting of window Channel Mixer (Mixing of channels) can be saved in a file (it will have cha extension) and to use for different images. For this purpose click on button Save to (Save) windows Channel Mixer (Mixing of channels). Files delivered in set Photoshop with cha extension are stored in a folder \Goodies\Presets a distribution disk. In particular, files of inverting of channels are in a folder \Goodies\Presets\Channels, and files of special effects — in the directory \Goodies\Presets\Effects. Obtaining of good halftone images Those who think that for obtaining of the good halftone image from color it is enough to click at line Grayscale (Gradation gray) in list Mode (Mode) of menu Image (Image), have a little simplified sight at things. Far not each image which perfectly well looks in color execution, it is possible to translate thus with success in the half-tone. Here it is necessary to remind the reader that exists two types of contrast: on brightness and on color. Halftone images have contrast only on brightness, and color — both brightness, and color (but in each separate case one prevails any). On applied to a diskette there are the color images perfectly illustrating these two types of contrast. Example of the image with high contrast on brightness is the file Acropol.jpg. In it boundaries of subjects are selected in the core at the expense of a difference in brightness пиксело Century1. Open this image. 2. Translate it in model Lab. 3. Look at color channels (fig. 9.18,). If in the channel of brightness you see accurately worked image, in color channels — only vague shades without visible details. And ![]() inFig. 9.18. It remains indicative: the acropolis all as is brightly selected against the dark southern sky. Transform the image to the half-tone. It saved sharpness, but absolutely lost expressiveness. Now not at once you will disassemble, where the pyramid comes to an end and the sky begins. All became identical dark gray color. 4. Save a state picture, and then cancel image transfer in half-tone as the method applied by us here does not approach. The image with contrast on color needs to be translated in half-tone more refined methods. For conversion of the given image we use the special tool, allowing to produce arithmetical actions with image channels. The remarkFor difficult operations with channels dialog box Calculations (Calculations) is used. With its help it is possible to create alpha channels on the basis of superimposing in the arbitrary mode of two any channels of the document, and, except торо, to carry out this superimposing on a mask of the third channel. The given method is applied to obtaining of difficult separation. Reviewing of this dialog box, according to authors, is beyond course for beginners. Mixing of channels with success is used for creation of the general half-tone channel by mixing of the initial. To begin with it is necessary to clarify, at what of channels there is the greatest contrast and what contains most of all details. At addition of these two channels in a certain proportion the optimal variant of the halftone image also turns out. If there is a channel in which brightness is allocated in a reverse ratio, i.e. the brightest areas of the color image belong to the most dark sections such channel too benefits — it is possible to superimpose its negative (i.e. to subtract the channel). Then total contrast on brightness still increases. 1. Return to an initial state of the document Pyramid.jpg. 2. Open palette Channels (Channels) and look at contents of each of color channels. As one would expect, the greatest contrast on brightness is present at channel Red (Red) (as a pyramid yellow) and in channel Blue (Dark blue) (as the sky dark blue). But in the red channel unduly light sky, and in dark blue — opposite, unduly dark. In the green channel most of all details, and in it the sky and a pyramid have about identical color. 3. We assume that the pyramid should be more light a background. Hence, we will add the red and green channel, and dark blue — to subtract a little to clarify object and to black out a background.4. Open window Channel Mixer (Mixing of channels). For halftone image obtaining it is necessary to install flag Monochrome (Monochrome). 5. Above there is a list of output channels. In our case (at installed flag Monochrome (Monochrome)) it has only one value — Black (Black) as the created halftone image contains the unique channel. 6. Engines of channels are more low allocated. At present the slider on scale Red (Red) is installed in position of 100 %, i.e. the red initial channel has 100 %-s' representation in the output channel. The content of remaining initial channels (dark blue and green) in the output channel to equally zero. Include flag Preview (Review). 7. Regulating engines of green, red and dark blue channels, achieve the best type of the image. For saving of initial brightness of the document the total sum of values on input channels should be 100 %. The most suitable the parameters presented on fig. 9.20 seemed to authors. ![]() Fig. 9.20. If you saved a picture of the halftone image created by command Grayscale (Half-tone), it is possible to compare results. The difference impresses, whether not so? The remarkSome images with color contrast do not need adding of details from one channel in another. If one of channels contains both the correct contrast and details the halftone image forms on its basis without mixing of channels. Toning of images Toning — rather popular reception both in polygraphy, and in a photo. More precisely, in a photo process of coloration of a black-and-white print is called toning and is produced by means of the special chemical compound carrying a title "bend". Different compositions of bends create various color hues: сепия (brown), red, green To toning in Photoshop apply the duplex press (it is considered more low) and a toning mode in window Hue/Saturation (Tone/nasytsennost). 6. Open the initial document Mill.jpg (without correction). Translate it in a half-tone mode. At once to transform to a duplex the color image the program does not allow. 8. Select command Duotone (Duplex) from list Mode (Mode) of menu Image (Image). Before you dialog box Duotone Options (duplex Parameters) (fig. 9.22). In uncovered list Type (Type) is set number of colors by which the image will be printed: Monotone (One color), Duotone (Duplex), Tritone (Three colors) and Quadrotone (Four colors). As type Duotone (Duplex) is selected, in a window (the first of them — two lines are accessible to black color). We define the second color. Click on the sample of color in the second line (at present it white). Dialog box Custom Colors (Color swatch) (fig. 2.45 see) opens. Install suitable color, for example the blue. The image is mandatory darkens, but it is easy for correcting then. 4. Push the button APPRX. Colour of the sample became blue, and in the field of a name there was a standard title. 5. Now it is necessary to set allocation of colors. For this purpose use the circuit to the left of the sample. Click on the circuit of allocation of black color. In appeared window Duotone Curve (a duplex Curve) the graded curve shows on a y axis of value of density of color, and on axis Х — gradation gray: from white at the left to black on the right. 6. By default allocation linear, i.e. corresponds to 20 %-s' gray filling density of color of 20 %, 40 %-s' — density of 40 % and etc. Given dependence can be expressed a straight line, setting only two points — initial (0 %) and finite (100 %). Therefore the allocation schedule — a direct diagonal. 7. In data entry fields gray levels through each 10 % and density of color corresponding to them are marked. 8. Click the mouse at center of a straight line and tow a point downwards. Thus you reduce percent of density of color of the gray. Lower a curve until in the field of input 50 there will be no value 20 is means that 50 %-s' level is transferred by 20 %-s' density of printing color. Remaining levels are modified accordingly. 9. If it is necessary, change also allocation of blue tone. Upon termination of editing push the button APPRX. the Duplex it is constructed. Set Photoshop includes some tens dial-ups of duplexes. They are stored to \Presets\Duotones address of a principal folder of the program. In three directories are collected two, three and four-colourful duplexes. For loading of any of them open window Duotone Options (duplex Parameters) and push button Load (Loading). You also can save own setting of a duplex and even graded curves separately. |
